Chand Raat, night of the silvery moon, is the most anticipated festival for all the Muslims. It is a festival celebrated with traditional festivity and cultural fervor for sighting new moon that marks the end of Holy Ramadan and start of Eid-ul-fitr.

Every year Muslims around the world celebrate Chand Raat in their own style but it has its own distinctiveness in the streets of Pakistan that makes it etched in your mind. On Chand Raat you can observe a festive look on all the streets of Pakistan that usually begin to fill as the night steps forward. Celebrations of Chand Raat started after breaking the last fast. People mostly gathered at each other’s home to wish each other and celebrate this festival. Women and girls decorate their hands with bangles and Mehndi and prepare sweets and food for the next day of Eid. Jewellery, dresses, colourful bangles and Mehndi are special items of Chand Raat that lit the markets with beauty and vibrant colours.
It has always been a special pleasure to enjoy the special colours of Chand Raat in Pakistan where we observe revival of all the cultural traditions. Last minute Eid shopping on Chand Raat has its own craze that can’t be contented with anything else.

Chand Raat has now become a sensational festival for people in Pakistan and takes a form of family evening where fun is definitely come into bud. People on Chand Raat enjoy shopping in the markets, buying food for Eid and meeting family and friends. It is a great event when people come together in an entertaining way to share their happiness that promotes harmony and social equality.

On Chand Raat streets are decked out in a festive mood; people wear their best dresses, girls use Mehndi to revamp themselves and give Bangles and Mehndi to their friends that is a traditional practice in Pakistan.

People of Pakistan are lively and buoyant, its rich heritage and culture of Chand Raat has indeed become a force to be reckoned with. It is a great event when people come together and celebrate a happy and peaceful Eid.
